I installed Real Player so I could watch some old 80s tv adverts I found on the internet (the Intercity 125 ones, and the KFC one with Jim Bowen). But when I uninstalled it, all the sounds have completely stopped working on the computer.

It's Win XP Pro, SP2, Intel P4 etc

Does anyone know how to re-enable it ? :crybaby:puke

Probably easiest thing to try is reinstalling your audio drivers. Here's how:

    1. Right-click 'My Computer' and select 'Manage'
    2. On the 'Computer Management' window, select 'Device Manager'
    3. Expand 'Sound, video and game controllers'
    4. For any item you can, right-click, and select 'Uninstall'
    5. Reboot the computer

When Windows starts back up, it will detect your hardware, and install drivers it has in cache. If we are in luck, this will put good copies into place, hopefully correcting the issue.

Let us know how it goes!

Tried doing what you said and it worked first time.

Nice one. Much appreciated. Thanks :wine
