but really permanent! I don't want to have to reload the entire computer. I just want to delete 10 files that I created using Any Video Converter, FLC and RealPlayer. Can someone point to a relatively easy program, preferrably free? hehehe. Thanks.

If file security is not a problem, simply delete the files as you normally would through Windows Explorer (includes emptying the Recycle Bin if you don't bypass with shift+delete). Windows will shortly overwrite the hard drive space that once contained these files.

Or, if you really want to blow 'em up good, then you can use CCleaner, as it will securely delete files up to NSA standards.

    Here's how:

    1. Create a 'Secure Delete' folder in a location of your choice, and bring the files there.
    2. Launch CCleaner
    3. Hit ALT+O (or click the 'Options' button)
    4. Choose the 'Custom' section
    5. Press the 'Add Folder' button
    6. Navigate to, and select your 'Secure Delete' folder
    7. Select the 'Settings' section
    8. Ensure the radio button next to 'Secure File Deletion' is setup
    9. Select your level of security
    10. Hit ALT+C (or click the 'Cleaner' button)
    11. Press the 'Run Cleaner' button.

Now, CCleaner will delete your files (and temp folders) to the security level you've selected. You can easily set this back and forth for normal and secure deletion. If you like, you can also add a shortcut to your 'Secure Delete' folder in c:\documents and settings\username\send to (where you substitute the name of your user account for username) This will allow you to right-click and send to 'Secure Delete' any file you wish.
