Can you 'splain this XP error to me?

    My XP machine has quit suddenly a few times tonight and this is the only error I could find, it was in the System Logs-

    Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c0000005, parameter2 bf9c5bd8, parameter3 ae4c0748, parameter4 00000000

    A couple times I was playing the Thief Demo, another couple of times just doing desktop stuff. I have a few other problems, but I'm not sure what it is stemming from.
