Turn my touch pad off when i have a mouse in!

Hello, im trying to figure out how to turn off the touch pad on my acer travelmate 4200 laptop. My thumb tends to bump it when i type, so it would be nice if i could turn it off when i have a regular mouse plugged in.

It can be disabled perminantly in Device manager just navigate to it properties disable this device

I havnt had use of laptop in a while but from memory on my my HP the easiest way I found was to install all the latest touchpad software in your case from acer which hopefully will install an icon in the taskbar at the bottom right which you can then right click disable touchpad on the fly in a few seconds

I'm sure it can be set to automatically disable when a mouse is connected but I dont have an answer

On my Acer if you press Fn and F7 it switches it on and off.
