Dual or Quad

I asked this questions awhile back but some things have changed in the past few months regarding prices, im wondering if i should go for a core 2 duo E6750 or a core 2 quad of sorts, I'm going to be getting an ASUS P5K-Premuim and 2GB of Corsair RAM and i plan on keeping my computer for somewhere around 3 years maybe more maybe less, will the gaming industry have developed multicore games by then to make going quad core worth it? I also like to Overclock my system and im guessing that the quad cores will not be as easy to OC as the C2D's because of heat. So any suggestions as to what i should get, i am going to be buying my computer within the next few days.

 

Quad seem to be the future and many experts suggest getting that but as of now, there really isn't anything that uses quad CPU setup, heck even most applications and games can not fully utilize the dual-CPUs (some might debate) so getting a quad for another couple of years make more sense to me since duo systems run faster than quad due to higher clock rates. Certain applications are even confirmed to be not fully matured even for dual-CPU systems where seldom yet verifiably crashing since dual CPUs confuses the application because of their process threading design I guess.

Still, since there is not much of a price difference these days, it might still make sense to go with a quad core, I think it really is up the to deal/set-up you can get....happy shopping.
