still no o/s found

    I have still got an issue with n error that says "no o/s found". I have got a hp pavillion that originally had millinium (bill gate's joke on the world) then upgraded it to xp. That stopped all the freeze up and error, then all the sudden i got an error "no o/s found". I opened it up to check the cables and they were tight. I tried starting it with the upgrade disk. I could us some help. Thanks.

    What error message are you getting when you try to boot (on an XP system I assume.) Does your BIOS recognize the hard drive?

    when i boot it tries to start then gives me a blackscreen and the words" no operating system found. in the bios it shows it there.
