Internet working but not always in firefox/IE

Ok the problem:

My Internet is working just fine, as in messengers and online games are running smoothly with out so much as a hitch in their connection.

However IE and Firefox (as I have tried both browsers in hopes it was just Firefox not working) do not have a smooth internet connection. Both hang up loading pages or simply don't load at all. I do not get the "unable to load web page" screen, rather it just sits there trying to load but the progress bar never, well, progresses. I usually end up exiting out of the browser and restarting in in attempts to get all the way to the web page I am aiming for, but that is pretty much hit or miss.

Now I will say that I have noticed that when exiting out of either browser they are not closing in the task manager... so i usually have to kill the program.

Changes made: I used to have AVG but have recently removed the program as it did not like some of my programs. I have also tried the PCtools virus scanner (both programs I downloaded via the MajorGeeks website).

As far as what I run security wise, just ZoneAlarm (which has internet access allowed for both programs) and a-squared. I think that pretty much covers it.

Please discussed amongst yourselves because I am at a complete loss. OH btw I have tried to uninstall and reinstall Firefox, no luck >.<

Oh heh I didn't submit any logs as i don't know if it is necessary.. I only think logs when i think virus... SOOOO if you would like me to submit the logs as requested in the read first thread in the other forum I will happily do so to fix this. >.< just didn't want to jump the gun
