Jumping around on the bottom bar

Hi Sirs~
Having trouble again.
The bar that sits under the active window is having issues. For example, if I have Yahoo email open and my college's site, and your site, the three boxes will say /Yahoo! Mail / SAC / MajorGeeks Support/, in that order, and then, whammo, they will all switch position. It can be pretty buggy when trying to type an email.
Any thoughts?

Are you talking about your browser tabs? What browser are you using? Does it happen in different browsers?

Not sure. It's the things between the start button and the time. (How descriptive is that?)
I use IE.
I have Windows XP too.
And, this just began last week.

Your description helps. It's called the taskbar. Try going to Start / Control Panel / Taskbar and Startmenu and open that up and look at the Taskbar tab. See if "Lock the task bar" is checked. If not, check it. See if that helps.

Hi again my friend.
Okay, now the taskbar is staying put, but the screen is still jumping. For example when I loaded up Major Geeks, the screen appeared, and then "jumped," or seemed to disappear reappear but too quick for my eye to follow. And the button in the taskbar will seems to "slide" to the right while it "jumps" but now, unlike before you had me lock taskbar, it at least stays in the same spot after the "slide." I can see it slide over and back.
Sometimes it does this while I am typing. I am not losing any type; I am just developing epilepsy... uke
Only new thing is I installed MS Office 2007 about a week ago.

Oops! Wait, another update. I just went back to my email screen, and "jump!" it changed position on the toolbar with Major Geeks...

Well, all right. I hate to do this, but ... please run the instructions in the box and the links below and I'll look to see if you have malware. The drifting problem sounds like hardware, but the switching problem sounds like it could be malware. - abri

Well, it's gone now. I downloaded the most recent update from ad-aware se personal, and after running it said it found 5 things it couldn't clean, and asked me to let it try to clean them after a reboot, so i said yes.
i guess it was successful because it took out the 5 items that time, and i have not jumped since, and i was jumping about every two minutes, or whenever i toggled btwn windows.
i guess it must be some kind of new bug.
