Vista torrent problems

I've just recently taken to downloading torrents and I'm having a bit of trouble. I'm using azureus and my os is vista. I can successfully download software(games and such), but I can never get it to work. I extract it with winrar, it looks like it installs fine, and then when I try to run the program it stops working and shuts off. Any ideas?
