I want to make a disc image on the desktop for this program we use at school. I would I go about copying it and setting it up so the program uses it instead of looking for a CD in the drive. This is on a WinXP pro box.

You can use any number of apps to make an image (.iso) of the CD, but you'd have to modify the actual code of the program to have it use the image and not to look for the CD and that's beyond my scope (and it may not be legal and might be seen as piracy). I suppose you could set up a virtual CD drive, mount the image to it, and the program should see it as a regular CD drive. I know ISORecorder will make the image for you (it's freeware available here: http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm) and the virtual drive can be done with Alcohol120 (I think) or Daemon Tools (I think) and neither of those are free (I think).
