Getting back on Vista...

I've had Vista on my laptop (it came installed) for like 6 moths now, now problems. I started getting fidgety; I needed to break something. So I installed Windows XP on the same hard drive, differnt partition. Now I can't get back into Vista. I tried editing my Boot.ini (which didn't work for the reason below), then i tried going into Admin Tools->Computer Management->Disk Management, and I'm unable to make my Vista partition the active partition. Theres' a solution here, but when i try to do step one, I am given the "Not a recognized command or batch file" line. I really need to get my vista partition back soon, any ideas?
