Ancient tape drive....
A guy I know (another elderly gent) has some sound files on TAPES!!! That's right! Colorado tapes! He wants the files put on a CD for obvious reasons. He has a T3000 HP/Colorado tape drive and I couldn't get the thing to work on Windows ME, Windows 2000, or Windows XP. It has a connection the same size and configuration as a floppy drive, but I think it has to be plugged into a really old style IDE. I tried everything I could think of, and I couldn't get any OS to even recognize the thing, but that's probably because I had it plugged into the mobo's FDC. The newest drivers I could find for it were for Win95; I did find a .SYS file for supposedly Win2000, but couldn't get it to do anything..... any ideas? Is this a lost cause?

You are going to have to install the driver/files for it. You can find it here:
http://tinyurl.com/2ajcqc The support page is here: http://tinyurl.com/yrb7t6 It is compatible up to NT, but I would be surprised if it didn;t work on XP. Pretty standard drive for the day.
