How to save Mozilla bookmarks?

I am trying to get all my Mozilla bookmarks dowloaded to my external Hard drive before my main HD dies.
No clue how to do this.

Start=>Run type in %appdata%
In New window that opens go into Mozilla>Firefox>Profiles>####.default and copy bookmarks.html to your new safe location.

You can also copy the whole Mozilla folder to your new location. That way when you reinstall Firefox later you can just swap Mozilla folders and all your addons etc. will immediately be available.

Hi MTHall51,

Piece of cake.

Go to
C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\Application Data\Mozilla
Copy the whole Firefox folder.

When you do a fresh install, replace the new Firefox folder at the above path
with your saved one.
You will have all your bookmarks, passwords, extensions and settings.

FF version 3 will be using a different scheme for bookmarks. Instead of 1.0 through 2.0 of using mork, it will be using places a sudo sql type of schema.

Or click Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks > File > Export > Export as a file.

That way, you just have a simple htm file that has all bookmarks and you can import using it the same way except do File > Import from file.

This was the best suggestion, IMHO, but there's one minor error in your info. It's Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks ..., not Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks ....
