Question Having problems with mac OS 9.2.2

I am new to imac's and this one is an older model please help!!!! Do you know if i can get a newer OS the one I have won't let me do much online and thats really all i do on the computer.... I also want to know what browser I can use Yahoo or so I can play games the one i have won't let me do much..... and does anyone know how to open .exe and Setup.dmg program files. What is a .dmg file anyway........?

OS 9.2.2 is really old and unsupported. I have seen the oldest of iMacs run Mac OS X 10.4 at least, so you could upgrade and that may solve some of the others issues. Except for opening .exe files that is, those files are Windows files and will not open on a Mac.

If you choose to upgrade the OS, try to upgrade your memory to the maximum your iMac can take too.
