Cannot download combofix.exe in vista c:drive

Hi, just starting to clean the computer and following your instructions to the letter. I cannot download and save combofix.exe to the c drive. It is currently sitting in a folder on the desktop (vista). Against your explist instructions.... top tip on how to get it to the c:drive??/ thanks so much..

ComboFix.exe must be save directly to your Desktop. It is not supposed to be saved to C:\

However MGtools.exe must be saved to C:\

ohh derrr.... i meant I cannot download MGtools.exe to the C:drive, and that is sitting on the desk top... Vista blows! cheers any suggestions?

Oh feeling like a pillick... I did it, saved MGtools to the C: drive

Yes you can save it to C:\. You just have to approve/allow it to be saved there.

However if you continue to have problems saving it there, just run it from your Desktop. It will probably work okay. It is just more reliable when run from C:\.

Note you must make sure to follow the instructions in the Using MGtools link given in the READ ME or you will have problems running MGtools. You must get UAC disabled, reboot, and then run MGtools as administator as requested.
