IIS vs ??

    What software is best to host a website from your local machine, thats robust, but at the same time simple?

    Well, Apache is the most common httpd out there (supports php, perl, MySQL, etc). But a similar free ftpd is more difficult to come by (I haven't found any good ones). Like Kodo said, what do you want to be able to do?
