A little trouble with a Flash Drive

The first couple of times I used it, it worked fine. Then I started getting error messages when trying to eject it. The flash drive came with some sort of program to use. I don't really like that idea, and would rather just copy and paste files to it using windows like I do with my other flash drive, but whatever, I decided to just go with the flow. But now, I get these errors.

When using the eject button that's part of the program, I get this:

When trying to eject using windows, even if the drives program isn't running, I get this:

The drive shows up as two drives. One contains the program and some other junk, and the other contains some junk and the files. If I go to My Computer I can eject them each seperately, but if I click the Safely Remove Hardware button in the toolbar thingy at the bottom right and select the drives(they are paired together in the SRH) then I get the above error message.

Like I said, I can eject them each seperately via My Computer, and then eject them as a pair via Safely Remove Hardware(may be overkill but that's what I'm wondering) but honestly I'd like it to work like it's supposed to rather than having to do this round-about crap.

I need it to be easy enough that my mother can do it simply without me having to write down a 30 step instruction sheet, which means everything needs to work like it's supposed to. Any ideas? Any ideas to why it worked the first times and now it doesn't?

*Posted this on another forum but still no responses, so I'll post it here. If I didn't mention it above my mom is using the flash drive to make backups.

Though I'm not sure of the cause of the problem, this MAY help:

    http://www.download.com/Unlocker/3000-2248_4-10493998.html

I have used unlocker with similar situations, and at the least it should tell you what specific program is holding it hostage. You might look into U3 errors, as I have heard that it has a few bugs itself. You might also consider just getting rid of U3 altogether, if you don't really need it.

Here is the official link for that:

    Hope that helps.

On the bottom right side of your screen in the first screenshot you have the U3 icon. If you click/or right click it--it should bring up a window that has an Eject button. Using that button do you still get an error?

I have a Sandisk U3 drive that is buggy, but I never have a problem ejecting when the U3 software loads properly and I use the eject button.

well it has started to work again... I'm not sure what the problem was but it's gone now. If it starts up again then I'll worry about it at that point. Thanks for everyone's help.

Even though it's not totally relavent at this point, to answer your question neither the eject button in the program nor the eject button using the safely remove hardware button in the task bar worked. The only way that I found to eject/safely remove was to go to my computer and eject each one(partitions or whatever they are, each seperate drive letter) seperately. I'm not sure what the difference between 'eject' and 'safely remove' is but I'm assuming they are basically the same. I know that sometimes the eject button using the software is better to use but I don't think it would cause any problems in my situation.
