Internet & Sound

Hey Gang, not so sure this is the write place for this question, sorry if it isn't. Here is my situation. I play around a lot on Paltalk internet chat, and play music in the rooms. On my old desktop there was no problom, my sound card alowed me to play straight through it. Now I have a Laptop (specs bellow) and this is no longer possable for me. Now I have to use a micraphone held up to speakers and play that way. I have a decent speaker system, 5.1 suround Logitech 100 wts. Sounds great on my end but playing over the inter net it sounds tinty and not so good. I'm sure the best answer is to get a better sound card, but at the time finances are short, so I wonder if any one may know of a trick I can try to enhance the sound on the other end. I use winamp and have tried a few plug in enhancers but it still sounds hollow on the other end. Any cheap fix would be appreciated.
