Will this hard drive be sufficient?

Hello again. For the pc i'm building I was planning on putting in only a 250GB Seagate 7200.9 Barracuda hard drive. I'm wanting a pretty decent gamer, along with the ability to run a variety of other things. One manual I was reading recommended 2 seperate 500GB hard drives, but this seems like major overkill for my needs. I doubt i'd fill it with that many rips of games/dvds. But is there a reason why two seperate hard drives would perform better? Or will a single hard drive perform as well, granted it has sufficient space?

Other specs on the pc: (not sure if it's relevent or not)

    AMD athlon dual core 4200+
    Asus M2N32-SLI deluxe Motherboard
    2 gb (2x1) RAM

I greatly appreciate any comments, thanks!

Well, if you run the drives in a RAID 0, you will get more speed at the cost of reliability. If one drive fails, you are screwed. I would not worry about it and just use the 250GB drive. You can always add another drive if you need it.
