I have and old P4, 2000 megahertz, 1GB memory, with AGP slot.
Currently have a 32 meg AGP video card installed.
The PC manual tells me the mother board has a 4x AGP slot.
    Power supply is 300 watts.
I use my pc for general computing, video and photo editing.
    Questions:
    1. If I buy a new video card, does that limit me a 4x AGP card?
    2. Will a AGP card rated 8x/4x work?
    3. Any low cost recommendations?
    Thanks for your help!

A 4x/8x card should work on your computer at 4x speed. I have used cards like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102441 in the past with pretty good results. Not a gaming card, but should be a decent upgrade for you.

It has been a while since I messed with a 4x AGP 'puter. If I am mistaken, someone will correct me shortly.
