DDR 133Mhz 512MB or DDR 266Mhz 256MB?

I've always wanted to know this, but anyway I have an old laptop which has 2x256MB DDR 266MHz sticks in it. And recently got a 512MB 133Mhz stick (I got it free), anyway I was wanting to know whether it was worth replacing one of the 256 sticks with it and will I see a boost in performance even though the clock speed will be downgraded?

More ram will benefit performance. The OS can load more items into ram ( keeping them on hand) which is faster than always having reload them from the hard drive.:)

I agree. RAM speeds do not make a noticeable difference in performance, but RAM quantity sure does!

OK, I'll try putting it in my laptop, I was actually thinking of putting it into my slightly newer laptop which has 333Mhz 2x256Mb ram, but was thinking that it might completely slow it down.
