The title says it all. I think a 1333Mhz FSB CPU can run in a 1066MHz motherboard but i just want to make sure. Im not 100% sure though. Because im looking to upgrade my cpu and i have a Asus Commando Mobo.

    Thanks for your help.

Actually, no. I don't think the CPU will run on a board that has too low of an FSB. It will work the other way around (if the FSB was 1333 and the CPU was 1066). CPUs cannot 'clock themselves down' to run on a slower bus speed. The bus speed on the motherboard must be equal to or faster than the CPUs rated bus speed. I tried this in the 'old days' by trying a 533mhz FSB Pentium4 on a 400mhz FSB motherboard.... no dice. BUT- this was years ago and maybe the technology has changed and the CPU is able to run, just at a slower bus speed, but then the entire speed for everything in the CPU would have slow itself down too... it just doesn't seem that it would work, but I could be wrong.
You're best bet would be to contact Asus to be sure, but I think they'll tell you the same thing I just did...
