NETWORKING please help asap..

my mate is lanning at my place and with have a problem cuase he cant connect to net.. :cry
network is running from modem to my brother pc (PC1) then a cable from his to mine which is on sharing and i have 2nd network card and try connect a cable into my friends pc.. is there any way he can get on the net without wireless, router, hub cuase i dun have it atm.. just 2 network cards in each pc..

Looks like you have a BUS network.
In network connection properties ---> TCP/IP.
Is his ip in your address range for example if your bro is 192.168.2.1 YOU would be 192.168.2.2 your mate should be 192.168.2.3....

Then set his default gateway as 192.168.2.1 As your bro is the gateway machine.
Also is he on the same work group as you?

 

Nah, I doubt that it can work. You are doing double Routing with ICS.

 

dw ive made it work we put a network card from my pc to my bro so then he had 1 for net and 2 spare.. then he bridged the 2 cards and yeh
