Angry Serious Malware Problems...

Hi guys,
Well on 2/26 I decided to attempt to download some software from what was I thought was a trustworthly site, but have now found that NOT to be the case. It seems that one of the issues I have is with the Braviax.exe, since my WinPatrol keeps warning me about it. In addition, I keep seeing a Red Icon with a white X in the middle by my clock that gives me a popup message, that I should run spyware software, my PC is infected etc.

I can run AdAware-SE but that does not seem to be much of a help. I am also able to run XoftSpyXE, which seemed to help for about day the icon by my clock was gone etc, but now I seem to have other syptoms. I am getting popups every time I open an internet browser and my PC just seems sluggish. I cannot run or open Add/Remove Programs and my system will automatically re-start from time to time without my initiating it.

I downloaded SuperAntiSpyware, and was able to execute it, but cannot run the actual application. I downloaded Spybot S&D and the same issues happen as with SuperAntiSpyware. Also downloaded Combofix as instruced, went to Start >> Run >> "%userprofile%\desktop\combofix.exe" /killall but that wouldn't start as well.

Luckily I was able to run MGtools and get a log file. I will attach it to this post. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

* Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
* Under Main choose: Select All
* Click the Empty Selected button.

If you use Firefox browser

* Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
* Click the Empty Selected button.
o NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

If you use Opera browser

* Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
* Click the Empty Selected button.
o NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

Click Exit on the Main ATF Cleaner menu to close the program.

See if you can now run ComboFix.

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this and also attach the log from Avenger.

Be sure to tell us how things are running.

My apologies for the seriously late response. Things were running quite well, then went down hill fast, i.e. my Internet showing as connected by going extremely slow.

In any event, I have finally run the HJT, as well as Avenger. I currently am not running any virus software, just XsoftSpySE and Ad-Aware. I also have WinPatrol turned on. Well anyway, here are the latest log files...

Ok, I am now running, AVG, seems pretty good thus far.
I was able to follow your instructions, but the only problem was that I couldn't delete:

WCESLog.Log from my
C://Documents and Settings/Steve/Local Settings/Temp

Everytime I tried is gave me an error stating:
Cannot Delete WCESLog: It is being used by another person or program.

Will keep you posted on updates on how things are going.

Default Re: Serious Malware Problems...

That is not a problem....don't try to delete it.

Your logs look cleans.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

1. If we used ComboFix then UNINSTALL COMBOFIX (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
2.
* Click START then RUN
* Now type "%userprofile%\Desktop\cf" /u in the runbox and click OK.
* Note: The space between the cf and the /U, it must be there.
3. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
4. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
5. If you are running Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
* Refer to the cleaning steps in the READ ME for your Window version and see the steps to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
* Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
6. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
How to Protect yourself from malware!

Default Re: Serious Malware Problems...

I truly appreciate the help with all this Tim. But unforunatley I got a call from my ISP's Security Office letting me know that my IP address is sending out malicious emails, i.e. porn. When I called them they informed me that it was coming from a Mac which is odd since I have a Dell. I went throgh my AVG logs and it seems that there is Trojan Horse BHO.DGQ that is sending out something every hour. The file path is:

C:\System Volume Information\restore_{7525D12E-B8EF-4A07-ABBD-57F476765491\RP26\A0000314.dll

Now I deleted all the Trojan Horse's listed in my "Virus Vault" of AVG, as well as the Viruses. The pc seems to be running fine, but I my ISP said they will stop my service if I don't work to get this fixed ASAP. Any ideas on this one?
