I was wondering if anyone out there knows how to fix imm32.dll. Its totally broken on my computer and I can't fix it for the life of me. I have tried everything. It seems that whatever hacker hacked me has cut me off at every pass. Is there anyone out there who knows what I might be able to do to resolve this? Please! I don't know the first thing about these things, but I'm willing to learn.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

imm32.dll is not a malware file unless it is not found in the correct folder which is your system32 folder. imm32.dll is a library used by the Microsoft Windows Input Method Manager (IMM).

Why do you think it is malware? What exact problems are you having? If you really think you have malware issues, the below steps need to be followed but they will not fix issues with imm32.dll since it is not malware.

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

Hi. I'm going to try the Malware Removal. Thank you for the suggestion. I don't know what the precise issue with my computer is. It is running quite slowly at times. Also, I have some virus called imm32.dll which is inhibiting me from opening MSN Messenger and other applications which I frequently use. Do you know anything about imm32.dll? Do you have and idea how I can resolve this issue or where I can go for help??

I already stated in my last message that it is not malware. Also note that slow PCs do not necessarily mean malware (as you will see stated at the top of the READ & RUN ME).

Unless you give us an exact word for word error message we cannot tell you anything. Is it saying that imm32.dll is missing?

Thanks for the help. I appreciate it. When I try to open MSN Messenger or Skype, a window pops up that says "This Application has failed to start because IMM32.dll was not found. Re-installing the Application may fix this problem."

I do think imm32.dll is missing from my computer. I don't know how to get it back. Any clue?

Do a file search to see if another copy is on your PC (see below). If you find one, copy it to your system32 folder. You should continue this in the Software Forum as this is not a malware problem.

    To search for another copy

    Click Start and select Search
Now Select "All files and folders"
Enter the imm32.dll in the "All or part of the file name:" box
    Now select "More advanced options"
Make sure the following check boxes are checked:
    • Search system folders
    • Search hidden files and folders
    • Search subfolders
    Then click the Search button.
