Default Boot up bios problem / flash had no effect

Hello everyone, fist time post, sorry it isnt a "happy"first post but...thats why im here, to get help from the people who know more than anyone!!
ok, this is a friends comp so im doing this from memory after a long night of struggle. Here goe's:
installed the motherboard, all componants, and when switched on, get one beeb, only the first boot page and then this message comes up( bare with, I had to take notes with a fat sharpi on napkins!!!)

: CMOS Checksum bad cmos date/time not set Processor installed in system is not of an"(soory this word I just could not read due to ink smear)" revision Please contact bios vendor to upgrade ect.... well I got all set to flash the bios, but, the boot page does not get far enough to boot the floppy!!! any ideas what the problem is, what I should do.? would popping out the bios chip, installing it upside down/backwards, flash the bios? some "body" damn near talked me into trying it. anyways, thanks, soeey for the missing "key " word and hope I can get an answer from someone. !!thanks again

Pop out the Bios battery ( small coin type ) leave it out for 10mins or so then pop back in, if that doesnt work then replace the battery with a new one.

Dont attempt flashing the bios just yet as it may cause more issues.

I would go with Halo's suggestion, but after replacing the battery you will need to enter the BIOS & reset the time date & any other settings that may relate to the processor. You may also find that there is a jumper that needs setting correctly for the processor speed. Also check that the BIOS reset jumper is set correctly.
