No Audio OUtput Device Installed error

    I have a new Gateway Desktop running vista home premium...has been working perfectly for months now...today I started the machine,and found it now has a red x on the speaker in my system tray and say no audio output device installed....any ideas???

    Goto control pannel and system and check hardware and device manager and do a scan for hardware change and see what happen.....
