Hi, finally got my macbook and getting ready to config it to do everything
![]() So, I have a 2.2 macbook with the new leopard. I have xp pro with sp2. I have 98 se and I also have parallels 3. OK, just finished bootcamp partition. Next step, if possible is to install xp and 98. Can this be done by partitioning the xp partition, and having 98 a third boot option? Or do I need parallels or the other one similar (what is the name) to run 98 I don't need peripherals for 98, just to run 2 or three softwares. No internet on 98 either. Also to make things even more fun, I would like to run my os 9.2 somehow. This again is just for a couple programs, fetch and rossetta. Rosetta being the most important. I did download a sheepshaver, but am a bit at a loss when it comes to the instructions on how to install it proper. Something about a disc image Hmm. Can I firewire to my older mac to do that part? I have an external HD (firewire) I can use for any of this process. all machines have firewire. So next sequence, do I start the xp install, and use the windows install to partition the fat 32 and then use some dual boot software for windows xp to 98, or will the mac find the third partition? Or is it not possible to have 98 run native on the intell mac? The need is minimal for 98, but why not have it right? Same with os9.2 Each of those do have some cool programs I still actually like to use. Has anyone done this on the mac? Sequence? bootcamp xp pro 98 sheepshaver 9.2 parallels xp pro again Sound right? Thanks

I had trouble finding a link to prove this, but I am fairly confident that MacOS Classic (9.x) is no longer supported on Intel Mac platforms. So you may have to scratch that one off the list.
Windows 98SE will not work through Boot Camp, this will have to be setup through Parallels. |

krazykrl is correct regarding OS 9 Classic and Intel Mac. Here is a list of supported Mac's that can run os 9
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25114 Now if you want to chance it, there is an open source software that I read and about here and here a while ago called Sheep Shaver that may let you do that. I would recommend that you research Sheep Shaver before you attempt to do anything with it and also don't forget to back up. Please note that this is not supported by Apple. good luck! So has anybody used sheepshaver? How about the dual boot for two windows, off of the windows partition? Or does bootcamp not support 98. I know to install xp I had to have sp2 on the disk, but now that the disk is fromated fat 32 can I plug 98 on it.
As of today, I have the bootcamp and xp loaded, and starting to load the xp apps. I would like the core os's installed before I get to far in case I have problems and have to start over.
