I can assure you that MGTools, IF you download it from our website and from the link in the READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide then its VERY SAFE, why I hear you ask... well this application is actually developed by our very own Chaslang who is one of the best Malware removal experts around these days.

As for why Previx has listed this as malware, heven only knows, but likely they just dont check what information they do post in their lists, which is why I dont take the info posted their as the final word on a file or application.

What you will find here, unlike many other forums that aid in malware removal is that you can only post in your own thread, this stops various other users adding and confusing your problems with their own, so that the ones replying to you are the members at Majorgeeks that have been ok'd as malware experts.

Other threads are guides especially the sticky ones at the top of this area of the forum and are for information only not for replying too.


So if you are going to sucessfully remove this malware then do follow the guide above and complete all the steps as listed, then attach the logs generated to your next post.

 

As Halo has indicated, MGtools.exe is not a problem and is FAR FAR from dangerous. In fact, Prevx CSI is much more dangerous (if you want to use that word) than MGtools. MGtools is primarily just a scanning program that collects information and cannot harm your PC. MGtools will make a few minor registry modifications to help work around common registry issues that malware may cause but that's about it. On the other hand Prevx CSI is a scanning and removal tool which will delete things from your PC. Since they obviously did not even check to see what MGtools.exe even is, I would expect that they have many other issues like this and need to have their developers spend a lot more time in forums finding out what real malware really is.

MGtools will not remove the W32/Bagle trojan (that is what flec006.exe is related to) since as I stated, it is primarily just a scanning and information collector. It is just used to help us find some of the files, folders, and registry keys related to the infection.
