Which type of cable laptop to TV

HI all,

What type of cable will give me the best picture etc from my laptop to my TV?

Samsung 46" LCD with the usual HDMI, Firewire D-Sub, USB etc.

Laptop has D-Sub, Firewire and USB.

Won't mention the analog ones

If your tv is HDMI and you a HDMI port on your Laptop, you can use a HDMI to HDMI, but if you have DVI port, you'll have to use the adapter from DVI to HDMI and the previous mentioned cable. Walmart sells both the cable and the adapter for around $40 total. This was the method I had to use.

Now if you have just a VGA port on your laptop, I haven't seen an adapter for VGA to HDMI yet, but that doesn't mean there isn't one out there, just the quality will be like VGA to DVI, not that great.

HDMI is probably the best in my opinion
