Okay the title says it all, I want a new mid range Video Card (bang for buck) will be for a gaming system that may be used for HDTV later on. Can anyone please point me in the right direction with links for straightforward articles differentiating between these 3 series or sum them up yourself. No personal opinions please just technical differences.

http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/131
http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/132 Those articles have some charts that show the different clock speeds of all the different ATI and NVidia chips; they also show bandwidth, shaders, stream processors, etc. When I was in the market for a new video card a while back, I had a thread going. There's a lot of good info in here about the 8800 and the 9600 (I ended up with the 9600GT and couldn't be happier). Here's the link to the thread http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=156925 I hope this helps! If I find any other info that might be helpful, I'll post it. [dlb] ![]() |

Thank you, having a good look now. Think my x1900xtx is getting a bit tired to....may have to wait 1-2 months though for the new series to come out and lower costs.

Thanks heaps for the link to the other thread was some fairly rounded arguments occurring but ACE was providing some solid basis (he had the nVidia Cards) and was convincing in his arguments/points. All 3 of this series are roughly the same price so just wanna get some of the facts. How is your 9600GT going? Any issues? Has it meet your expectations?

I've been running the 9600GT for over a month a now and have not had one single issue with it; nothing. The card installed very easily, the video drivers installed easily, my 3dMark'03 scores tripled, and it games like a f
g beast!!! I couldn't be happier!Here's a link to a 9600 review/benchmark http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.ph...=177&Itemid=72 |
