Question Can't type on webpage

My mom is using a windows XP system and has been trying to read and send email using the AOL website on Internet Explorer 7 at www.aol.com.

She's recently developed a problem. When she opens AOL.com's page she's not signed in. She clicks the sign in and it moves her to the AOL secure site to sign on. But when she clicks into the username block, it will show the cursor but will not allow her to type.

I opened firefox 3 and the same thing happens.

I open AIM 6.0 and she logs on with no problem. if she uses AIM to go to the mail page she can get there and she's signed on. She goes to compose email and can't type into any of the fields.

In essences, the webpages are active and working but she's unable to type on a webpage.

Suggestions?

ARRGH. Turns out she hadn't rebooted her computer for several weeks. So once I got her to reboot the computer all the issues went away. She's 82 years old, god bless her and sometimes figuring out what the issue is, is tougher than solving the issue.

That was my mistake for not rebooting the computer to start with.

Thank you for your time and effort.
