modems

    Hey everyone does anyone know about dial up modems?
    I had to change the one my friend uses and the driver loaded and it works but no where as good as the one that was in there. What are all the deciding factors when look to buy a "higher kbs" or "accelerator" modem? Thanks for any info.

    Don't know what the fastest dialup speeds are in the US but over here I think it's 128kb/s. So whatever modem's the fastest and look for reputable brands would help too.
