Getting my PC to rip tracks quicker

I recently tried ripping some tracks from CD and it was taking about 10=15mins per track, which is really slow (only 3-4 min tracks).

As such I want to upgrade my computer to burn quickly. I am only currently running632MB RAM, so I am boosting this up to 1GB anyway, but I understand that the CDR itself could be playing its part. Its a Lite-on LTC48161H, but I can't find out anywhere how fast this drive is meant to be and whether it is contributing. Also processor is intel celeron 1.70ghz.

I am running Windows Media Player. Have used FinalBurner in past but had tendency not to encode index properly, so only 1st track played auto.

Can anyone help? Is my CD drive adequate? is my RAM adequate? What speeds should I be acheiving?

I thoght I had? What other info do you need. Its a Hyunju system, and i am have 2 x 40GB hard drives. Windows XP. Other info already posted.

 

Wow! That's so much quicker - only about 10-15 secs for a 2 min track. This is much more acceptable. Thanks for the recommendation. If anyone thinks my specs still need boosting though, to support modern media file usage, let me know.
