Default Widcomm bluetooth - causing programs to block

Laptop... Bluetooth hardware is from Broadcom, software is Widcomm. Whenever I use bluetooth (typical use is file transfer between laptop and phones) and after that, I can't launch any program.

GUI programs don't show up on the desktop. As for command prompts, the window opens up but I never get the prompt. When I check processes using Process Explorer, all the programs I started are running, but not at a point where the window is shown.

OS is Windows XP 32bit SP3. Compaq nx6320 (hp) laptop.
AVG 8 free editon.

Has anyone seen this before? Know of any solution?

Do you get any error messages? Text and numbers would be a great help. Or a screenshot.

Hi Cordialis, I fixed it, in a way.

No error messages. Nothing in event logs. All running programs run fine, but new programs just don't start completely. To me it seems to be a quite low level problem.
I tried to start up Notepad in WinDbg intending to trace through, but _WinDbg_never_came_back_ to the main window.

And the solution? Uninstall SP3. :|
