I was going to upgrade some RAM, and read in http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=82101 that Everest could show how much RAM the motherboard can support, but I have looked all over Everest's screens and can't find something like that. It says the motherboard has an Intel Triton 82430HX chipset, and lists the RAM slots, but I still don't know how much of an upgrade it can stand. If I upgrade too much, would anything worse happen than either failure to recognize all the memory or bad boot until I revert to the old sticks? :confused

According to this page (about 1/4 of the way down):
    Code:
    http://www.anandtech.com/printarticle.aspx?i=155
the chipset supports only 512mb of dram.

I think its time to put some money together for a new pc, that page was written in 1997, windows 95 was still king.
