Just a rant

I wonder why folks come to a help forum, ask for help, get good advice, and then refuse to listen.
It seems to me if they know so much, that they wouldn't be asking for help, they would be offering it.

Sometimes, on a bad day, it is not easy being patient.
This is one of those days.

At times you just have to give up and continue assisting someone else who wants help, only so much you can do before going mad!! Frustrating as hell when you know your on the right track but let the thread drop and revisit in a day or so, likely the OP has decided to try your advice or is willing to.

Funny thing is if they take the advice offered over being stubborn, their issue would be fixed likely alot quicker... I find that even asking "what windows version" or getting a Everest log is like your asking for personal bank details.

They refuse to listen because you're not saying what they want to hear. They want you to tell them a simple one-click solution that fits in their own twisted version of reality, a solution that makes them look smart and knowledgeable and blame-free, yet one that is so complex and complicated that they could not have figured it out on their own.

That's not the thing though... it's not that they know so much. It's that they are convinced that you don't know anything at all. You're just improvising and speculating are a lot more interested in making them jump through hoops than in actually finding a solution, right? If you truly knew what you were doing, you should be able to just read that first initial post and immediately know what the problem is, what is causing it, and how to solve it. You can do magic, right? That's how computer problem are solved after all... magic.
