Some hardware randomly reset during use

Hi all having a little problem today.

Occasionally a few of my USB devices will randomly "reset". My iPod and Western Digital external hard drive are the ones that do this.

If it happens to my external hard drive, whatever activity it was performing (playing a video, copying music from folder to folder, etc) will immediately cease, and I will hear the "device disconnect" sound, followed immediately by the "device connect" sound that Windows XP makes. At this point, this error message appears in my system tray.


Clicking on that error message yields this box.


All of the USB ports on my computer are hi-speed, 2.0
I am not quite sure what to make of it. Any tips, please? Thanks.
