Please help me! Acer Aspire 5100-3583 Laptop

I have an Acer Aspire 5100-3583 laptop and it is driving me crazy! The touchpad and keyboard does not work. After numerous reboots, still nothing. External mouse and keyboard, no help. On occasion it starts working, but then next reboot back to inop again. What is a permanent fix for this problem? I did a search online and found other Aspire 5100-3583 owners having the same issue. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. By the way, I know about pressing the fn+f7 button to get the touchpad working but unfortunately the keyboard does not work. LOL I can't do anything GRRRRRRRRR :cryconfused

Unfortunately, I think this is a controller problem with the motherboard in the laptop. I don't think any drivers or software will fix it Contact Acer about a possible warranty replacement, or check their site to see if it's a known issue and if a recall has been issued.
