HW to run DOS

    Will a pentium 3 or 4 run DOS. Believe it or not, am trying to find a compatible laptop to run DOS, and I understand that newer machines will not run it.

    For example, will Pentium 3 or 4 run DOS.

    I keep some old hardware around just in case, but I usually use some virtualaztion - VirtualPC, DOSbox , Bochs & there is another free VM from Sun, VirtualBox.
    Hope that helps a little..

    Yes. It will. Why would you think it wouldn't? Some things may run rather quicker than you would like but they will run none the less.

    The last OS to have a true old tyme DOS was ME, before that it was Win98SE. What DOS are you trying to run?

    There have been arguements elsewhere about this, even a new OS has a DOS, just not the one you want...
