Anybody here with asus maximus m/b? Slow boot up

It takes around a minute from the time i turn my pc on till it gets into windows which i know isnt right for my system.

It takes about 20-30 seconds to get to windows loading screen as bios takes a while and then it detects my drives which takes another 8 seconds or so.

Systems specs are:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 3.00GHz (1333FSB)
GeForce 9800 GX2 1024MB GDDR3
Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2 DHX PC2-6400C4DHX TwinX (2x1GB)
150GB Western Digital 10000RPM 16MB Cache Raptor X
200GB SATA 150 Maxtor 8MB Cache Hard Drive
Asus Maximus Formula Intel X38 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2
Coolermaster Real Power 700w Modular

Surely something isnt right..

I've updated my bios to the latest version.

Could be a memory problem. If you have more than one stick, remove one & try it again. If that doesn't help stick the one in that you removed & remove the other one.
It could always be a faulty cable as well, but I would try the ram first.

Are you sure one of your security programs isn't set to san at bootup?
I run something called ERUNT which backs up my registry at the first boot every day so I know why my systems are slow - it is baking up the registry.

 

i only have nod32 on
