Internet Connection Issues

    I am using at&t dsl internet connection and just a couple of days ago
    in an attempt to access the internet I get prompted to run diagnostics
    and once diagnostics is finish I have access to the internet . What causes
    this problem? Any help or suggestions will be very much appreciated.

    A few questions for you


    • What windows version you using and is it fully upto date?
    • What diagnostics are you prompted to run, is it AT&Ts own or Windows? and if the disgnosic prompt tells you possibly whats wrong, what is the message or warning?
    • What is your connection, is it wired or wireless?
    • Have you turned off the modem/router if your using ADSL or Cable to reset it?
    • Have you done some basic cleaning steps like deleting temp internet cache and cookies?
    • If you have a firewall program and not the Windows built in one, what is it and have you disabled it to test if that is blocking your internet access?
