Hello,
I've got a hard time at my girlfriends pc here. I'm actually ASHAMED to post here as i'm a ITer and usually fix stuff myself. So..here is some back ground information: A while back my girlfriend bought a Medion PC at the Aldi (dutch thing). It had vista on it and she wanted xp. So I was like: sure..i'll fix it! Installed XP everything wen't fine except for the audio drivers. But didn't had time to check that so leaved that untill today. Today i started my search...And so far I installed 7 different drivers and NONE worked. In the meanwhile after I tested a driver to see if it worked. I used a driver cleaner to clean all the "remains". I used:
Also to make that clear, I currently have 2 "unknown" devices in my pc: One is called pci device with this as it's properties -> details tab (used http://pci-ids.ucw.cz/ to check) The other one is called Multimedia Controller..now comes the REALLY weird thing! let's check properties -> details tab (used http://pci-ids.ucw.cz/iii/?i=11317133 AND http://www.pcidatabase.com/search.ph..._search=Search to check) One site says it's a SAA7133/SAA7135 Video Broadcast Decoder the other one disagrees and says its a Pinnacle PCTV 110i Capture Device. (like..what the frak.) SO, my FULL system details are zipped and a summary is provided down below and I just beg that somewone can help me. As i'm getting mad by this. This is actually the first system/case EVER which I can't figure out. So if somewone figures this one out i'm personally going to hug him xD Code:

![]() OK, first XP SP3 doesn't support Realtek HD. (unless MS has gotten around to an update for that) My suggestion is to uninstall Realtek Audio through Add/Remove Programs, if it is there. Make sure all the other drivers are gone and cleaned up. You will have to fool XP into believing it is SP2. 1. On your PC change the CSDVersion registry key to XP SP2: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows\CSDVersion value=200 2. Restart your PC 3. Install: Realtek_High_Definition_Audio_for_2KXP03 (This should contain the MS UAA Bus driver (KB 888111). If you don't see this driver listed in Device Manager>System Devices, install this: kb888111xpsp2.exe) 4. Change the CSDVersion key back to XP SP3 again: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows\CSDVersion value=300 5. Restart your PC, finalize configuration of your PC, sysprep and capture. |

If you hadn't noticed, I pretty much stick to Realtek and the easy stuff anymore. Or call you in when I get in over my head. ![]() |
