cannot load wireless card-please help!!!

Hi, I've bought an old laptop for grandkids to use - Toshiba satellite 310cdt. I've also got a Edimax mimo ew-7608pg cardbus for it but when I try to install it I get a message "setupv 100159 has caused an error in install6xDLL" I've tried turning off laptop and reloading but same thing happens. I've checked programmes and it shows that at some point a similar card has been used but when I try to delete and start afresh it says that computer cannot find file (I thought this might be stopping new installation) I'm stuck now- anyone got any ideas ?:confused
