LOL.exe virus
L O L apparently stands for "liveonline" specifically liveonline_295974... as listed in task manager's processes running. I've looked everywhere for a fix for this, and no one seems to have it. Similar .bat files have been reported, and I'm well aware that it's the culprit of many problems with my pc. However, though you can ctrl/alt/del to task manager and 'end process' on the one listed as L O L (.exe). and it will stop whatever malicious thing it's attempting to do, it keeps resurfacing. On a file search of my entire system, there's no listing for it in any form, and of course, it's not a program in the 'add/remove' through control panel either. I'm at a loss, and wondering if anyone knows how or where a utility can be found that can get rid of this thing. No a/v seems to recognise it. And I truly want to put on this system any more antispyware programs or other wares at this point. I got word via a phone txt briefly suggestion an actual file to be found somewhere, called simply 'removelolexe.exe' or 'removelol.exe' but haven't been able to locate it, only sites that say they know of it, but want me to install yet more stuff on my system. I think that's how it got in there in the first place, going to a site, not downloading anything or installing it actively, but my a/v went a bit nuts after having visited a site that offered free visitor counters for putting on webpages. I know that's where this lol.exe came from. I just want rid of it, so any help would be most appreciated. Thanks. **please note that the name L O L is deliberately separated so as not to call up the giggly emo. Another caveat of this particular problem I guess.
