    Even though Ive had my fair share of viruses and trojan in the past Ive always managed to fix them by reading forum entires and running some software. This new one has proven to be the worst. This is the first time I post a thread asking for help.

    * taskbar hidden, locked (even though it is listed as unlocked) and disabled,appearing only as a thin line at the bottom of the screen.
    * both user accounts affected
    * safe mode or normal makes no difference. same look. same problems.
    * internet access disabled, even under safe mode with networking
    * B/c of above, can't run Adaware
    * Unable to run media files (pics, videos, or music)
    * unable to move or open any desktop icons and their associated files
    * the printer has apparently been uninstalled
    * Both AVG and AVAST have both been run numerous times, have found and erased viruses and trojans, but the problems persist. (one was a "html framer")

    I am using a friend's computer to post this thread so any detailed info I unfortunately don't have access to.

    Here is my HIJAck this log (from normal mode):

    Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

    Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
    READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

    Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
