Windows cannot find regedit.exe

Hello Everyone ...

Please can somebody Help me out with this Problem .... Yesterday when I was clicking right mouse button on my any Disk Partition some strange Language was showing in the Menu so I installed Avast Antivirus and I removed that Virus but now when I am trying to access my regedit.exe file another Error is showing on the Screen "Windows cannot find 'regedit.exe' make sure you typed the name correctly and try again ... I tried various Times but same thing is showing up so I searched the file name and it was at the Correct place c:/>Windows/ Directory so I replaced this File from my Windows XP Service Pack 2 CD but still I could not Access the Regedit.exe file.

What Should I do now I have even taken the Malware removel Procedure but it did not helped.

Your problem may or may not be malware. You need to attach the 4 logs that were requested in the READ & RUN ME for use to be able to help you.

What was the exact file name you restored from your CD? Was it regedit.exe or regedit.ex_

If it ended in an underscore then it is a compressed version and is not ready to be used. It needs to be expanded into the correct file name. And this does not mean by simply renaming it.

Actually I replaced the file name with the exe version not the compressed version I had both of them but I used regedit.exe and sure I am going to attach my 4 Logs at this Thread in a minute.
