    PC = HP a6130n
    Modem = AT&T 2Wire 2701 HG-B
    OS = XP SP2

    Previously I used another 2Wire modem (1800 HG) and it was using USB connection; now the new modem uses only Ethernet cable; after connecting them there is no internet connection at all; in Device Manager > Network Adapters I can see only 1394 and nothing else. I tried to create a new connection but in vain.

    The modem works perfectly with my daughter's computer using Wireless connction. I've got Ethernet/USB adapter, thought it would work, but ended up with the same - no connection. I can see that there is green light in the port on both sides (computer and modem), but somehow it's not working.

    Can you advice please?

    Thank yuo in advance for your help.
