Default driver power state failure

I recently installed an M Audio Audiophile sound card on a Vista x86 SP1 machine. Today I got a BSOD (Driver Power State Failure)... checked out Microsoft's knowledge base and it informed me that such bugchecks are caused by an unsigned driver. So I went to their Hardware Compatibilty List and looked up my device. It says my driver is compatible, but when I run a driver compatibilty check on my machine it lists this driver as unsigned. The driver installs perfectly with no 'unsigned' warnings, but it's obviously causing problems. Is there something I'm missing here? Could the BSOD be related to something else? Any ideas?

Try putting the card in a different slot.

Only got the one slot... it's a legacy card. Guess I'll just disable it until I get a new one... thanks anyway.

It's probably an IRQ conflict, you might want to have a look in the BIOS at the IRQ settings. Sounds like you could pick up a better sound card for very little money that wouldn't give the hassle the old one does.
