The Malware Removal Forum does not allow anyone but authorized helpers to answer threads in our forum. This restriction was put in place to protect our users from incorrect information and to avoid thread hijacking and confusion caused when too many people post answers leading in too many directions.

Many people often inquire about helping in our Malware Removal Forum. Sometimes the request is from new users with no established track record demonstrating technical abilities or posting style/behavior.
    • If you are not an expert, see the section below titled Not An Expert?
    • If you have established yourself on another website as an accomplished expert in malware removal and wish to help out here, then please inform us. You can simply start a thread in the Malware Forum stating that you would like to help out. Provide your user name(s) and links to forums where you have helped out. And continue to read the below.
If you have not already proven yourself on another website, it is important that you are an expert in ALL Windows Operating systems and that you know how to use all the tools and procedures we use to remove malware.
    • Do you have the time to learn our procedures? We are not a HijackThis reading forum. We are a Malware Removal Forum, and we have our own required procedures and tools to use.
    • If you feel you have the time to really help out here then you will need to get familiar with our processes and our sticky threads. See the stickies in the below forums:
    • Also are you sure you have the time to help out here on a consistent basis? Helping out in the Malware Removal Forum requires a significant amount of time and dedication.
Malware is still the same malware anywhere in the world, but our procedures are different than those used at other forums.
    • We answer ALL threads and we attempt to work in oldest to newest queue order to keep everyone's waiting time in the queue the same. We don't think it is fair when a new post 5 minutes old is getting a response when someone else may have been waiting a day or two.
    • We also complete all threads as long as the originator does their part to help us complete the process.
    • We do not allow any logs to be posted inline.
    • We do not ask for HijackThis logs and do not want them posted.
    • We have our own MGtools program which gives us all the log info we normally require, and it already has a HijackThis log embedded in it from a HijackThis program that is renamed to avoid problems with infections that hide when they see hijackthis.exe running.
    • We have a full cleaning procedure that is required when people need help removing malware and the logs from it include:
      • AdwCleaner
      • Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
      • RogueKiller
      • HitmanPro
      • and the log from MGtools which is a ZIP file containing more than a dozen other useful logs.
    • We have dozens of sticky threads with boilerplate procedures for tools/scanners already written up so that a direct link to the sticky is all that is needed rather than posting lots and lots of text in thread which gets it cluttered up with too many details, and it can make loading threads slower especially when they get long.
    Not An Expert?

If you are not an expert in Windows or in malware removal and wish to learn, we are unfortunately way too busy to offer training to anyone who is not already a recognized expert. There are a few websites that provide training rooms. The process can take quite awhile to complete since there is a lot to learn, and the people training you are doing it in their free time. Make sure that you are serious about wanting to spend the time to learn and have the time to perform malware removal because it takes a strong committment. Check out the below sites:
